Now on to what's on my mind, and this morning it's the IAAF insisting on Caster Semenya taking a gender test. You know, that just grates my cheese! Yeah, she's probably the most muscular woman I've seen in a LONG time (Williams sisters included) and she can probably leave some male athletes in the dust. But apparently that MUST mean that she's not a woman???!!!!!! The nerve!
I am a feminist. I believe in woman's rights. I unfortunately also believe that even though we've fought so long and so hard to be able to vote (in most countries at least) and to go to war as something other than a nurse and to even run for President (believe it or not, but one of the African countries even has a woman president!), we as women are still seen as the weaker (and therefore less important) sex.
And when there's a woman that comes along that is strong and fast and impressive, immediately she has to be put down.
So what if she doesn't look like a freaking supermodel? Hell, a supermodel wouldn't be able to do what she did!
It sickens me that people still hold on to this thing that a woman is supposed to look a certain way to be seen as a woman. It's total BS and I am so proud of Caster and I hope she wins all the battles before her.
Maybe we should just go back to the way the Greeks did it in the days of old. Just compete naked. Then nobody can argue about who's who and what's what.
